We purchased….(townhome) during the height of Covid-19 pandemic. Six months later, due to some unforeseen circumstances, our purchase got nullified as per a clear clause in the contract. However, Mattino stepped forward and suggested a revival of the purchase agreement without any changes made in what the parties had agreed upon, including the purchase price. That move from Mattino–while we had seen some builders had taken advantage of the pandemic situation and cancelled purchase agreements just to resale at a higher value to another buyer–meant a great deal to us (first time home buyers) and created an atmosphere of trust and appreciation.
Our home got delivered and we moved in. Now, a question must be honestly answered here. In reality, what a buyer should expect from a new home? Perfection? No defects? If one answers are these, unfortunately, he or she is living in a dream land! Of course there are defects, imperfections, and problems in a newly built home, but what matters the most is how the builder will take care of those defects. In my experience, Mattino took care and still taking care of what needed and needs to be done to guarantee buyers’ satisfaction, and to safeguard their reputation as an experienced builder in Ottawa area.
